Ryan lives in Melbourne, Australia and since child hood, has been an avid gamer, consumer of anime and lover of good quality pizza and ramen.
Professionally Ryan was an I.T engineer by day and a freelance artist by night, until the Summer of 2015 when he realised that his (often unpaid) after-hours work was what truly brought him fulfilment. Thus instigating Ryan to follow a different path; one that saw him create a website to display his craft and talk about himself in the third person.
Ryan is a self-taught artist heavily influenced by traditional Japanese Manga and anime technical fundamentals. Born in Australia and raised during the 90's, Ryan was exposed to popular TV series such as Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Yu-Gi-Oh! and many more at the height of their popularity. These animations were the catalyst which spurred Ryan's artistic flair and by the time he was a teenager he'd incorporated (a potentially unhealthy) love for video games to his leisurely repertoire. The two combined lead Ryan to years of eye-strain and a passion for the moving image.
Throughout High School Ryan enjoyed Art, English and I.T disciplines whenever they presented themselves and upon completion of his VCE, enrolled himself into a Multimedia course where he learned how to design and build websites...in Flash. To his disappointment (at the time) the real world applications would be very limited and within the next few years the death knell of Flash based websites was sounded. At this time things started to shift towards a different and much more serious path - Ryan felt that he needed to solidify a career in a safe, white-collar industry, one which was guaranteed to grow and not be obsolete only a few years after entering the industry. This lead Ryan to follow his interest in Computers at an academic level and ultimately saw attend Monash University where he would complete a Bachelor of Information Technology and major in Information Systems.
Safe and sound behind his cubicle walls, Ryan diligently climbed the long (and monotonous) ladder of a Systems Engineer - suffice to say the clicking of keys and installation of drives didn't afford Ryan the creative freedom he needed and so with a renewed vigour and a heaping of humble pie, Ryan threw himself back into academia where he earned himself a Bachelor of Animation.
It's now 2018 and Ryan considers himself a competent 3D generalist. He still loves to draw and will produce a commission piece if you ask him nicely. He may even design you a website, a logo, put together a poster for your band, characterise your significant other or model your dog in 3D. Whatever the case, he's happiest when he's creative. Maybe one day he'll even learn how to use the appropriate pronoun.
So I sincerely thank you for coming and while you're here why not have a look at my portfolio - you might just find something you like or something that inspires you.
Peace and love <3.
